Back in the Shop: Bou-chique's First Day All Together of 2025!
Hello, 2025! A Fresh Start for Bou-Chique
2025 is officially here, and we’re diving into the new year with plenty of energy and exciting plans for Bou-Chique! The start of a new year always feels like a clean slate, a chance to reflect, refresh, and plan for all the possibilities ahead. And trust us, we have big plans!
We kicked off the first day of the year right where we belong—at the boutique, surrounded by beautiful things, fresh ideas, and of course, plenty of tea and treats to keep us going. The atmosphere was buzzing with a mix of excitement and determination as we took stock (literally and figuratively) of where we are and where we’re heading.
Getting Organised – The Three-Diary Method!
If there’s one thing I (Donna) know about running a boutique, it’s that organisation is everything. That’s why, as we started the year, I found myself juggling not one, not two, but three diaries—because, let’s face it, one is never enough!
📖 Diary One: The daily planner, filled with to-do lists, appointments, and reminders—keeping us on top of all the little details.
💡 Diary Two: The creative journal, where all the fun ideas, inspiration, and styling concepts get scribbled down.
🎯 Diary Three: The master plan—the one that outlines the big goals, dreams, and exciting projects we have in store for Bou-Chique this year!
With these three trusty notebooks by my side, I feel ready to tackle anything 2025 throws our way!
A Cosy Start with Tea & Treats
Of course, no planning session is complete without a little something sweet to keep us going! As Jill arrived, she brought a touch of warmth with her—both in her presence and the delicious treats she had in tow.
We indulged in some truly heavenly scones from Paticake Patisserie, and let me tell you, the lemon and blueberry flavour was absolutely out of this world—sweet, tangy, and perfectly crumbly. Paired with hot tea from Fat Unicorn, it was just the pick-me-up we needed to fuel our day of planning.
We may not have managed to finish every last crumb (believe me, we tried!), but it was such a treat to start the year with a little indulgence. It’s these small, comforting moments that make the everyday tasks feel even more special.
Stocking Up & Styling the Boutique
While sipping tea and brainstorming ideas is a great way to begin the year, the heart of the business is, of course, our beautiful boutique!
We spent a good part of the day sorting through stock, organising displays, and planning our next collections. Though we’re still in the process of adding new pieces, we already have some gorgeous fresh arrivals gracing the shelves.
Every item we bring into the boutique is chosen with care, ensuring it reflects the unique, boutique feel that makes Bou-Chique special. Whether it’s a timeless wardrobe staple or a statement piece, we love curating a selection that brings style, quality, and a touch of charm to our customers.
And because presentation is just as important as the pieces themselves, we took time to photograph some of our newest arrivals to make sure they look just right—ready for you to browse in-store and online. Every detail counts when it comes to showcasing our stock, and we love making sure each piece looks as beautiful as it does in person!
The Window Situation – Making the Best of It!
If you’ve passed by the shop recently, you may have noticed that we’re still dealing with a bit of an unexpected challenge—our temporary wooden board covering the window.
Late last year, we had the unfortunate experience of a burglary that left our window shattered, which was a huge setback. While we’ve managed to work around it, we cannot wait to have the new glass installed and see our beautiful shopfront restored to its full, welcoming charm.
For now, the makeshift wooden cover is doing its job, but it’s safe to say that we won’t miss it when it’s gone! Once the new window is in place, it will bring in more natural light, brighten up the boutique, and allow us to create even more stunning window displays—something we truly love to do.
Despite this challenge, we’re staying positive and focusing on all the good things ahead. If anything, it’s made us even more grateful for the support and kindness of our customers, who continue to visit and shop with us despite the temporary inconvenience.

One of the best parts of running Bou-Chique is the incredible community we’ve built over the years. We are so grateful for all the lovely customers who have popped in, sent messages, and continued to support us in every way.
